في لقاءات مع مسؤلين أمريكيين بارزين مؤخراً، بدا لي واضحاً مدى القصور لدى الأمريكيين في فهم حساسية و مركزية فلسطين في العلاقة بين العالم الإسلامي و الغرب عموماً و الولايات المتحدة على وجه الخصوص
.
و قبل الخوض في موقع فلسطين من العلاقة بين أمريكا و العالم الإسلامي لا بد من التنويه أن فلسطين ليست هي جوهر الخلل في العلاقة بين الغرب و الإسلام و إنما هي المظهر الرئيسي للخلل لما يمثله إحتلال فلسطين و المشروع الإستعماري الإسرائيلي من رأس الحربة في مشروع حضاري غربي معادي لحضارة المنطقة و شعوبها و تاريخها. بمعنى أن المشروع الإستعماري الإسرائيلي الغربي هو وجه من أوجه معاداة الغرب لشعوب و حضارة المنطقة و ليس هو أساس العداء. و من هنا فالأحرى بدعاة الأمن و السلام العالمي البحث في ما هية العداء و أسبابه و مسوغاته، و التي يمكننا إجمالها عموماً بسوء الفهم المتبادل و عدم قدرة الغرب على إستيعاب أن مصلحته الإستراتيجية الكبرى و أن مصلحة السلام و الإستقرار العالمي إنما يكمن في التصالح مع شعوب المنطقة و حضارتها Read more
أفكار أولية في هندسة التغيير
صياغة أولية لوثيقة إستراتيجية في هندسة التغيير و الثورات تم التقدم بها لبعض القوى الشبابية للتغيير في مصر صيف 2010، بناء على طلبهم. على الرغم من أهمية الوثيقة و تطابقها مع مجريات الأحداث التي تلتها بشهور قليلة، لا بد من التأكيد على أن الثورة المصرية ثورة شعبية و عفوية بكل المقاييس لعب فيها، بتقديري، الجانب التخطيطي و التنظيمي دوراً يكاد يكون معدوماً في مجريات الأحداث التي أعقبت موعد المظاهرات المصادف لعيد قومي كما أشارت الوثيقة، و معدوم تماماً فيما يتعلق بنجاج الثورة و إسقاط النظام من خلال الإعتصام، و في إعادة بناء الدولة الذي نحن بصدده Read more
التطرف و كيف نعالجه
للعقلاء فقط
أعشق العربية و أمقت العروبية. فالعربية وعاء القرآن و الحضارة، أما العروبية فهي تخلف داحس و الغبراء و البسوس. و ما ممالك الأعراب اليوم و جمهورياتهم و جماهيرياتهم و إماراتهم إلا إيغال في العروبية، و ليس لها من
العربية إلا أسماء سماها حكامها، ما أنزل الله بها من سلطان.
و مما أعشق في العربية هو تفصيلها في المعاني بين المصطلح و اللغة. فالتطرف لغة هو المغالاة فيما إعتاده و تعارف عليه الناس. أما إصطلاحاً فالتطرف هو الإيغال في فهم و تفسير ما قبِله الناس، و حمله إلى ما لا يقبله الناس.
فإذا إعتاد الناس بسيط المطعم و الملبس، كان الإسراف و التبذير في المطعم و الملبس تطرفاً. أما إذا إعتاد الناس البذخ و الإسراف، فيصبح الزهد و الرضى بالقليل تطرفاً. كذلك فلو قبل الناس مبدأ العدالة في توزيع الثروة، و فهم الحاكم أن العدالة تتحقق بمجرد الإستيلاء على أموال الغني و إعطائها للفقير بحجة تحقيق المساواة في توزيع الثروة، أصبح العدل جوراً و المغالاة فيه ظلم قد يكون أفدح من أصله.
من هنا فإن أي معالجة لقضية التطرف ينبغي لها أن تتسم بالعمق و الشمولية و الواقعية حتى لا يكون الخوض فيه إمعاناً في الضلال و التضليل. و من الملاحظ بأن عموم من يتحدث في التطرف لا يمتون إلى الإعتدال بصلة، فأصبح الحديث في التطرف مبعثه تطرفاً، و غايته إيغالٌ في التطرف. Read more

قيثارةٌ دون وتر
و رحلةٌ إلى محطةٍ ….
تلك هي قصةُ إنسان

في غابرٍ من الزمان و كان
و في بقعةٍ من الأرض و مكان
وُلد، ترعرع، شبَ…
ثم خرج عن الطوق إنسان
عاش من الزمان دهراً
سكن من المكان خيمةً أو قصراً
و ما كان المكان و لا الزمان له عنوان
هو أنت و أنا، هو و هي
نمضي و تمضي بنا السنون
و في لحظة لكأنَ كل كائنٍ ما كان
هذي قصيدتي أخطها
لعل فيها درسٌ و عبرةٌ أو ذكرى
ذات يومٍ إذ ذوى بنا النسيان

“ماذا عساني أقول،…..إذ قامت قيامتي،… بعد الأفول”
أما و قد توسدتُ الحجر
و سكنتُ القبور لحودها و ودعتُ البشر
و سنين آمالٍ طوالٍ مرت كلمحٍ بالبصر
و لا أنيس اليوم سوى فعالٍ أُحصيت، لي أو عليَ كحبات المطر
ترى ما أنا قائلٌ، و أين مما جنيتُ المفر
و أمَتي أمَتي من لها بعدي، من لحمزة من لك يا عُمر
و أي معذرةٍ ليومٍ كمثله، يوم حقٍ لكلنا قدر
أيا عبداً ملأت الدنيا ضجيجها و سبرت أغوار القمر
تُرى مما كسبت، أفي جنةٍ أنت، أم في سقر
نهيمُ دهورنا غفلاً، و نصحو بعد عينٍ أثر
فيا صاحبي قدم ليومٍ وُسدت مثلي ذاك الحجر
فو الله ما منك مبتغى سوى مرضاة من له الماضي إذا حضر
إن أنت للأمة ثغرةٌ من ثغراتها
فلا تؤتين من قبلك إذا حاق الخطر
نحن للأمة الثغور إذا ما الخطب حضر
شهد الله أن لا إله إلا هو إذ وقفت ببابه، شهد الشجر
و يشهد عليك ذاك الأنيس توسدته، ذاك الحجر
فلا تركنن لدنيا تصيبها، فهي و إن طالت ممر
دنياك إذ ودعتها، من النحو مبتدأٌ منها أنت أو خبر
دع عنك زخرفها، فلا تكونن فيها إلا غريب سبيلها عبر

إلهي أتيتك مثقلاً و ليس لي إلاك، إرحم ذليلاً إذِ إنكسر
إغفر عظيم الذنب والزلات، ما قل منها و ما كثر

Economy and the Role of Money

(MAF- 4/14/2009) – The answer to the question of the role of money is not merely a philosophical one. Rather the very answer to this question is the key to understanding the realm of the world’s economic problem today and is indeed the starting point to finding a solution.
As human societies evolved so did both human needs and the goods and services human produces. As needs grew and became more diverse, humans became less self sufficient and more co-dependent on one another. Instead of surviving on few items of food shelter and clothing, humans used a basket of numerous goods and services. Combination that makes such baskets varied from one person to another and items that make up such a combination started to come from different sources producing same or similar items. Exchange that allows producer of a commodity to trade it in for one that is produced by another needed a medium to make such an exchange easy or even possible. It is that need to facilitate exchange of goods and services between various producers and consumers is what gave rise to the need for money. Thus money was invented as a means to facilitate exchange. Read more
Dignity First

(MAF – 2/23/09) – “Hand me death but with dignity,
and do not give me life in disgrace” is another famous Arabic saying we can all subscribe to. We always talk about human rights, civil rights, the rights to this and the rights to that, but often forget the one right that is most important of all.
Every human was born with one entitlement – that is freedom. From that basic right to freedom comes all other rights. From freedom you choose what to believe or think, what life and future to have, what contribution to make to your family and community, what to die for, and what to leave behind. We all own these rights, but we do not all enjoy the rights we are all entitled to.
Whenever you see injustice, you know that these rights are being taken away. Whenever you see oppression and corruption, you know that someone is taking something that is not theirs, and whenever you see misery, you must know that someone is taking more than what they are entitled to.
These are not things we normally like to think or talk about, particularly when things are going well for us. After all, why all the blues and why spoil the fun? But now things are not going well for us, and things have not been going well for much longer for many more people other than us. Read more
